This large Christmas hamper is guaranteed to satisfy even the biggest family this Christmas! It includes a delicious farm fresh whole turkey and an award winning Gleesons ham as well as 1lb rashers, 1lb sausages, ring of white pudding, ring of black pudding and a tray of stuffing.. It should feed approximately 16 people for Christmas with plenty of leftovers.
To ensure that you get the freshest quality meat possible, full turkey on the bone will be available for collection only on the 23rd and 24th of December. All other Christmas hampers and products can be collected instore from the 21st of December.
Remove all packaging. Remove stuffing from plastic bag (if present) and place underneath the turkey or in a separate oven proof dish. Place the turkey in a roasting tin, breast side up, cover the breast with streaky rashers (optional) and cover the whole turkey with foil. Place it in a preheated oven at 180C and cook for 45-50 minutes per kilo. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes of cooking time to brown the skin. As all ovens vary please ensure that the turkey is fully cooked by checking that the juices run clear at the thickest point.
To start, weigh your ham. Place it in a large pan, cover with cold water and bring to the boil (add any flavourings you may wish eg bay, peppercorns, onion). Boil for 30 mins per 450g/1lb, periodically skimming and discarding any white froth that comes to the surface. Drain and leave to cool. If glazing, remove the top layer of skin and brush with the glaze of your choice. Place in a foil-lined roasting tin and bake at 200C for 20-30 mins or until the glaze is golden.
